Since early January Life Cube teams have been visiting various locations in Los Angeles County to offer shelters and learn where they can be most useful. With a new shipment of the Transformer Tent (8' x 8' size) coming in, arrangements are being made through local service organizations, for our Life Cubes donated through the Rescue the Future project, to be placed where most needed.

The February shipment will provide a slightly different style Transformer Tent (pictured below) , initially designed for the Lahaina fire victims with large windows for air flow and large awnings for sun shade, features that were also requested by the US Air Force, and recreational customers.

World Central Kitchen to use Life Cube's Rolling Shipping Containers, and LC-12 Shelter for disaster response in Los Angeles.

World Central Kitchen Selects Life Cube's Rolling Shipping Containers
to Expedite Logistics and LC-12 an Off-Grid Shelter System to Assist Los Angeles Fire Relief Efforts

Santa Barbara, CA – World Central Kitchen (WCK), the global non-profit organization led by Chef José Andrés, has purchased Life Cube premium equipment to aid in the ongoing relief efforts following the devastating events including the wildfires that have ravaged the Los Angeles region. WCK will utilize Life Cube's innovative Rolling Shipping Containers in their warehouse to expedite logistics and efficiently transport and store food and supplies, ensuring they reach those impacted by disasters. These are key components of Life Cube's deployable shelter and flooring systems which transforms, not only into shelters but also into mobile kitchens and food preparation centers, enabling service organizations to provide hot meals and nutritional support to displaced residents and first responders.

Life Cube's patented shelters are designed for rapid deployment, offering a compact and transportable solution for emergency situations. These self-sufficient shelters provide essential amenities such as power, light, heat, food, and water, ensuring basic needs are met in the aftermath of disaster.

"We are honored to support World Central Kitchen in their vital mission," said Michael Conner, inventor of the Life Cube system. "Our goal is to provide innovative solutions that empower humanitarian organizations like WCK to effectively respond to crises and deliver life-saving assistance."

This exemplifies the power of collaboration in times of need, bringing together innovative technology and dedicated humanitarian efforts to support those affected by disasters in general and specifically the Los Angeles fires.

Delivering Supplies post disaster

Life Cube, Inc has announced their 2025 Rolling Shipping Containers, a product recently purchased by leading non-profit organization World Central Kitchen to expedite logistics.
Imagine trying to deliver food, water and shelter to disaster sites when the roads are blocked, and there's no truck or forklift. That dilemma inspired the invention of this 5-foot Cube that rolls into place, and transforms into 160 square foot platform -- a sturdy foundation for shelter and staging area for food prep.

Now one person can move over 1000 pounds quickly, in a warehouse or in the field.

product announcement

Santa Barbara, CA – January 11, 2025 – Life Cube, Inc, a leading innovator in shelter technology, today announced the launch of Rolling Shipping Containers (RSC), a groundbreaking solution to move shelter or provisions — no equipment required --in a warehouse or in the field.

Key Features of Life Cube's Rolling Shipping Containers:
  • Rolls: One person can move 1000 pounds of cargo in a 5' cube
  • Opens: Provides easy access to 64 cubic ft of stored cargo
  • Transforms: Unfolds from the 5' Cube into a 160 square foot platform, out of the rain or dirt
  • Stack to store and ship: Forklift-friendly for stacking providing easy access in less space

Innovator and CEO Michael Conner explains, "We are excited to introduce the new model of our patented Rolling Shipping Containers, produced here on the Central Coast. This represents a significant set of capabilities for logistics and emergency managers, providing ways to move product quickly in challenging situations by leveraging our unique design. Though we've used them as a key component of our larger shelters, we're now quite honored to support World Central Kitchen, a leading non-profit providing food relief globally, who has purchased some RSCs to expedite their logistics and move supplies in disaster relief sites where terrains are challenging, and equipment can be scarce."

Feedback:  "As the end-user...in the most austere conditions, the suite of Life Cube products would have made our logistic support vastly easier, more nimble, and more capable." 30-year Navy Seal Captain
Availability:  RSCs are now available for purchase on LifeCubeInc.com and through authorized retailer, Arrow Truck Accessories, located conveniently at 6200 Hollister Ave, across the street from the Santa Barbara Airport (to the south) and Direct Relief International (to the north).
